Cold Caress of a Soliders Gun
Hold me closer, please
For this moment that you seize
When you took me away
On that frightening day
Waiting hours, as I lie under the sheets
See your skin, the scars and how deep
They had once been, when you had left behind
That past, that had started to rewind
I know your weakness
How you hold me too dear.
The weapon’s caress
For there’s nothing left to fear.
They had once been
On that frightening day
Our unholy sin
That I locked away
Hours fly by, as I wait in the porch
The rain is pouring down,
You would never come home
And my mind says “of course”
When they’re out looking for you.
I pray for the truth
You would never hurt them
As my heart beat like a drum
I know your weakness
How you hold me too dear.
The weapon’s caress
For there’s nothing left to fear.
They had once been
On that frightening day
Our unholy sin
That I locked away
Now hold me, don’t wash away your sins
Come home, please!
The water is caving in!
I feel its’ cold caress, pressing into my skin
And the blackness comes,
I know it’s the end.
