The power to see
Today I discovered a power I have
I can look into a person’s past
When they look into my eyes,
If they’re sincere I then despise
How their life got to be that way
Horrible events pass with each day
And now there is a terrible ache
Inside my soul that I can barely take
But with their heads held to the sky
And me with my tears in my eyes
I realize now that I have little pain
All my life has been in vain
And because of this now I see
How my life is more than free
I’ll count my blessings more and more
Because my life is an open door
I’ll count my riches, hug more people
I’ll even pray in my local steeple
Give thanks to those helping hands
For which without I could not stand
Say more kind words each and every day
And forever stay this way
I’ll be the good person I claim to be
I want to be so desperately
And now I am free to say
That I love my life and it’ll stay that way
