Only a Actor
(verse 1)
As the lights dim,
And the noise faides, the curtain drops and i see your face.
Center stage with that big happy smile, its been around for quite a while.
(verse 2)
Reading through my lines written out for me, I sing my songs and I dance around, like a puppet that you one day found.
(chorus)
The lights go down, the curtains draw.
Through all these lies i wish you saw...
I'm only a actor in your play,
A character you can throw away.
I only wish that you could see,
how much you really mean to me.
(verse 3)
Act 2 begins as i walk on stage, i do my song and dance, i only wish there could be romance.
But the lines are written clearly, and obviously you don"t see me.
(chorus)
The lights go down, the curtains draw.
Through all these lies i wish you saw...
I'm only a actor in your play,
A character you can throw away.
I only wish that you could see,
how much you really mean to me.
(verse 5)
The spotlight shines,
Bur no one comes.
No lines are read and no songs are sung.
The smile you had always seem, had to come to realize...
What you really mean.
I look back now with no regret, for this smile you will never forget.
