GRACE
Grace.
Think about it.
Here’s my definition.
It’s when you look up at the heavenly sky.
Thanking the Lord for every moment alive.
Thankful for every damn step, every stride.
For all those times you got stupid at night.
For all those times your cars didn’t collide.
For every time you felt excited deep inside.
For the feeling you get when you apologize.
Yeah, that’s grace.
It’s when the sun rises bright orange and red.
Realizing you’re lucky to be alive than dead.
Realizing that every day you’ve been fed.
That every night at least you lay in a bed.
That you’re not persecuted for what you said.
That for every sin our Lords blood was shed.
That every promise he made has been kept.
Yeah, that’s grace.
It’s when the rain comes down in showers.
Seeming like the Lords tears become ours.
Falling down on us and sprouting the flowers.
Covering everything from the sea to towers.
Covering everyone both the good and cowards.
Covering the reality of uncontrolled powers.
Covering the truth of divinity at all hours.
Yeah, this is grace.
Grace is when it’s silent at night.
Looking up to nothing but starlight.
And you see that flicker far away.
Wondering if its heaven beaming your way.
And your eyes water up with hope.
Thinking of the love he devotes.
Praying he’ll take you pretty soon.
Wanting to escape like a lost balloon.
Reaching out to the blackened sky.
Wanting his hands to lift me high.
That’s the definition of grace.
When me and the Lord come face to face.
It’s when a friend says forever I’ll love you.
Knowing that the friendship is dearly true.
Laughing at others like they don’t got a clue.
Because you’re separating yourself from a fool.
Because thinking critical is your new ritual.
Because your mind is a creative cesspool.
Because we can use it as our freedom tool.
Yeah, that’s grace.
It’s when a you and a stranger share a smile.
That love escaping everyone’s secret file.
All that energy inside building up, compiled.
Thinking about bringing this whole world to trial.
Thinking there isn’t enough love in our aisle.
Thinking everyone is just a living stockpile.
Thinking we should try sharing once in a while.
Yeah, that’s grace.
It’s when new eyes are opened to this revolution.
I’m trying to be nice but honestly F*** evolution.
To all my problems the Lord will be my solution.
Knowing he still cares after my broken resolutions.
Knowing he’ll cure me of the world’s mind pollution.
Knowing that evil tries to make some confusion.
Knowing it’ll never be enough to make me lose him.
