Monsters in the Rain
Rain Rain
Do not go away
Rain Rain
Stay, Stay
I like the ink sky
I like the rain’s sound
I can’t explain why
I smile when thunder comes ‘round
I sneak outside
No shoes or socks
I open my eyes wide
And undo my heart’s locks
The blue rain
The white fire
It washes away my pain
It fuels my heart’s desire
The ice water on my skin
The puddles on the ground
To nature I’m giving in
I surrender happily without a sound
The scream in the storm
The emotions leave me
My blood goes form ice to warm
Closing my eyes, I see
The wildness within, freed
The cold air I breath in
My soul so overpowered it begins to bleed
This struggle I could not win
I fought the monster in my head
With her snicking claws
That wrapped my heart with lead
With her glossy fangs and gaping maws
The beast within my soul’s corner
That ripped me in half
Made me a mourner
With her wicked laugh
Is part of myself and I
This is bitter sweet
I cannot lie
That dark and light do meet
Alone in the rain
Embracing mutual pain
I’ve probably gone insane
But the storm won’t maim
I’m so glad you came
Little beast within
Like the lightning strike, and chaos begin.
