Don't Forget Me
Away from home walking the streets,
Searching to find your missing greets.
I know you threw some in the trash,
And I need a few to save me before I crash.
Maybe I let you go too soon,
Like a butterfly from it's cocoon.
I hope you're out having a good time,
Sooner or later my picture has to come to mind.
You can laugh while I cry,
As long as you're happy I won't say goodbye.
I plead guilty to the crimes I've committed,
For stealing your heart and not asking for it.
Sorry, I couldn't resist,
One look and you were on my list.
Before you came along,
I was tangled up in webs of wrong.
Used to being on my own,
Nobody here but me alone.
You broke that seal and promised me,
With whatever happens you wouldn't leave.
That promise slipped down the drain,
Kept behind an empty pain.
Fill it up with words that remind me,
Of what you and I could be.
You're smile's the hope that gets me through the day,
Returns me home when I wonder off as a stray.
Without you in my life,
I just don't feel alive.
Memories are made too last,
And in my heart you won't be thrown to the past.
Remember, you will always be,
The girl of mine, so don't forget me.
Everyday I'll strive to continue,
For every moment that I've held you.
You're spirit keeps me going,
And this internal love is your doing.
Even when we're not together,
I'll still think of you as mine forever.
You made the wish at midnight,
Reversing it is impossible to rewrite.
Whether this was a spell or not,
Laid your trap and I've been caught.
You can release me into the wild,
But I'll still remember your smile.
Find a way to hold on,
I send my love for when you're gone.
My letters were shipped airmail,
Tracing you're stealth trail.
I know they'll deliver to you,
I have my faith all the way through.
Despite things your friends say,
You're the one who makes my day.
How I venerate you when I'm called sweet,
Makes me think of life if we didn't meet.
Save me from another night of dark,
Meet me later at the park.
One last time so I can say farewell,
Then leave me thinking there's nothing left to tell.
In the end I know the truth,
But no way to have the proof.
Deception and lies, heartbreaking cries,
These are the things I see through my eyes.
But you clear up the blurry,
And leave behind nothing in a hurry.
Don't forget me. (Don't forget me)
Don't forget me. (Don't forget me)
Don't forget me. (Don't forget me)
You're smile's the hope that gets me through the day,
Returns me home when I wonder off as a stray.
Without you in my life,
I just don't feel alive.
Memories are made too last,
And in my heart you won't be thrown to the past.
Remember, you will always be,
The girl of mine, so don't forget me.
Don't forget...me.
