Middle of September
Love ran wild the days I spent beside you,
Rebel child, with perfect angel eyes.
All this time, you think I would forget you?
You're wrong, because I can't forget the times,
We ran outside in the middle of September,
slipped off our shoes and raced down to the lake
You picked me up and threw me in the water,
I wish we could go back to that, Again.
Country roads remind me of your laughter,
I miss the days we'd spend just skipping rocks.
I'd hear your voice and feel completely happy,
Just being there beside you while we walked.
The summer nights were perfect, we'd climb the tallest trees,
and somehow we'd feel closer to the stars
You said a star got brighter, when we fell in love,
and I'd sit there and I'd wonder which was ours.
Since those days my heart has grown to wonder,
Why we ever drifted far apart,
Maybe its the magic of reminiscing Us,
Looking back, Im innocent at heart.
Don't ever forget the way we wrote our names,
inside a giant heart into the sand.
Cuz I will always look back on our crazy, perfect days,
And be happy.
Cuz I got to hold your hand.
