Kindred Souls
Was not the other day that you were happy?
Was it not last week I saw you smile?
And wasn't last month when your wit
gave me a reason to laugh for awhile
and we never were connected
the way we are with her
and we never quite accepted
that were are just both so unsure
Refrain
But don't let the pain inside of your heart
keep you from those who love you
and don't let the memories keep you apart
from yourself whose alarmed and confused
cause no matter where you are
i promise there's a star above you
and it's bright and gleaming
giving you the meaning
the world has ended
like you subconsciously pretended
and it's time to release
what you've held so deep
and show us that you've sounded forth life
verse 2
keep your heart on your shoulder
and your mind in an embrace
keep your voice from escaping
to it's usual place
keep that smile on your face
and that gleam in your eyes
remember life's not a race
and you don't have to hide
verse 3
so accept help
forget selfishness
show us all
that your world is a mess
and give us a reason
to hang up the phone
cause we know your not alone
that your happy and glad
that your soul isn't sad
and you've found a place to call home
