Teddy Bear Lullaby
The little girl ran away from her ma,
With wishes on her lips and dreams long forgone,
She remembered a time, a time far away
Spinning in the field,
And talking with flowers, to say
Kicking the past and hugging constellations,
As her mind flew away from all confirmations,
To join with the teddy bear,
Who didn’t show a care,
Blowing dandelion seeds,
And meeting no needs,
As the wind came and stole thoughts, thoughts
And the ashes joined together,
As a fire in the nether,
So the girl danced across waves, waves
And this song floated along
And this is what it says;
My dream, my dream,
Is to travel the world,
And dance with the lights,
Those fanciful sprites,
To speak the human language,
And cease all fights,
And put right the mind, the mind.
Cause I once flew away
To never return
But I learned the hard way
I would only get burned
Being alone is fodder for thought
But getting lost in wishes
Is no place to start
My dreams are full of laughter,
My dreams are full of joy,
Sitting in a tree there’s a girl and a boy,
There’s good times and bad times,
As there always must be,
But the shadows are vanished and finally free,
The girl wakes up and her lips form a smile
As she recalls her dream
And sings with remembrance these things;
My dream, my dream,
Is to travel the world,
And dance with the lights,
Those fanciful sprites,
To speak the human language,
And cease all fights,
And put right the mind, the mind.
As she laid down her head to go back to bed,
She smiled and smiled and thought of her ma,
And she reached out to her once in her mind
And whispered her thoughts about leaving her behind
My dreams are coming true,
And it’s all because of you,
I just wanted you to know,
Even if it doesn’t show.
Then as she quieted her mind
She sang one last time
My dream, my dream,
Is to travel the world,
And dance with the lights,
Those fanciful sprites,
To speak the human language,
And cease all fights,
And put right the mind, the mind.
