they dont know
People say I’m shining,
But it’s just a tear in my eye,
People always whining,
Saying they wanna die.
They don’t know pain,
They haven’t watched their child die,
Because their drinking became their lullaby.
They don’t know how much it hurts,
When your every move is a mistake,
When nothing works,
When you feel like your going to break.
When in your life,
Every day is black,
Filled with strife,
There’s no going back.
Nothing to gain,
Nothing to lose,
Here you go again,
Just singing the blues.
When you’re taught love doesn’t exist,
And you’re told you’ll never be kissed,
And if you died you wouldn’t be missed,
And when you walk by, you’re dissed and dismissed.
Everything slowly falls apart,
People claiming I have no heart,
My life has crashed I need a new start,
Went from a nice car to a push-cart.
When in your life,
Every day is black,
Filled with strife,
There’s no going back.
Through out the years,
I’ve cried plenty of tears,
Chugged a few beers,
Messed with my peers.
Nothing to gain,
Nothing to lose,
Here you go again,
Just singing the blues.
Killed my own child,
Drove my parents wild,
Hardly ever smiled,
Never lived life mild.
“Life is short.” That’s what they say,
Let’s make it shorter by another day,
Lets drink our fears away,
Then no one will dare stay.
When in your life,
Every day is black,
Filled with strife,
There’s no going back.
Nothing to gain,
Nothing to lose,
Here you go again,
Just singing the blues.
They don’t know what its like,
To grow up with nothing, not even a bike,
Since the day you were born,
All your toys burnt, books torn,
Just to have heat, and you still have nothing to eat.
When help never came,
When no one knows your name,
When nothing is ever the same,
When everyone says you’re to blame.
When you’re trailer trash,
Aint got no cash,
When no one cares,
Just living on prayers.
Nothing to show,
Bout to blow,
You don’t know,
Where to go.
Aint got no clothes,
No one knows,
I’m about to die,
All I do is cry,
And ask why.
Never had hope,
Just alcohol and dope,
Forced to cope,
Tied with reality as a rope.
Nothing goes right,
Might die tonight,
Can no longer fight,
Trying with all my might.
Life is a noose,
Just cut me loose,
This is the path I choose,
I’m no longer singing the blues.
I’m on my own,
Still unknown,
But well loved,
Sometimes getting shoved.
Now I’m strong,
Yes I do wrong,
This is my song,
I know it’s long.
But this is my life,
Filled with strife,
I made it through,
And so can you.
Keep hope,
Cut your rope,
Stop the dope,
And you can cope.
Don’t drink,
Stop and think,
Always dream,
Things aren’t always what they seem.
