In My Dreams
Good morning, darling,
How'd you sleep last night?
I was tossing and turning,
Dreaming of you.
I made the most of those eight hours sleeping worthwhile,
I dreamed we were on the the beach drawing hearts in the sand.
I collected pearls and you brought me starfish,
I constructed a necklace only suited for you.
Though the night ended terribly,
In a tragedy, the dream came to a halt.
Woke up grasping my pillow,
Oh, how I wish it were you.
Pour myself a cup of coffee,
All my head hears is you laughing.
Am I still asleep?
I hope I am.
And I'd rather be passed out in my bed,
Than be awake missing you.
I can't hold you, I wanna touch you, I need to feel your lips,
But that's impossible, you're not here.
In my dreams,
Everything changes, the scenery is different.
You're next to me on the ground lying beneath the stars,
Laughing and cuddling as I tell you how I named one after you.
You've got your head on my chest and your hands around my neck,
As you doze off I recite my love for you.
Longing for this to happen in real life, I know that it won't,
So for now, I'll keep you in my dreams.
I set my alarm for who knows when,
I don't have work tomorrow, which means more time with you.
I'm a lucid dreamer,
I can take us anywhere you want to go.
Pick a place;
A city, a park, maybe an island?
I can fly us there just by dreaming it.
Given the chance to sleep for years,
In a heartbeat, I'd pass out and be with you.
My head is my house where I live,
If I had a choice I wouldn't wake up.
My brain thinks I'm wide awake,
But really I'm just daydreaming of us.

As you doze off I recite my love for you.
Longing for this to happen in real life, I know that it won't,
So for now, I'll keep you in my dreams.
I sleep, sleep, sleep,
Days away trying to get over you.
Although my dreams are better than anything else,
I want them to become real.
Tonight is the last time I'll dream of you,
After that, I'll stop.
My heart is beginning to collapse,
And my bed is becoming closer to me than you.
I don't wanna give up,
But I'm just not tired anymore.
I wanna feel your hugs, I wanna hear your laugh, I wanna taste your lips,
For real.
It's just not the same in a dream as it would be in person,
And I think it's time I get over the fact that I just won't see you again.
So, this will be the last time,
The last time,
The last time,
I'll see you in my dreams...
