Never Let You Go
Do you remember the days when we were young?
We would stay up half past midnight talking all night long
And the pain would finally stop for a moment or two
But it was only in those moments when I was with you
And now I’m left here thinking what went wrong
The last things a gave you were a letter and this song
And if I had a chance to do it all again
I would’ve told you that I loved you so you’d finally let me in
The summer days have passed us by
Teardrops like rain falling from the sky
I cannot wait until I see the morning light
Because the greatest pain I feel is the pain I feel each night
I’ll never let you go
I remember when I first saw you; I remember the glance
We were teenagers and reckless; we didn’t stand a chance
Our hopes and dreams have fallen from the sky
As we lay here on the rooftops wondering why
I could see the hurt in your eyes; I could feel your pain
Your voice inside my head is driving me insane
The summertime was our chance to finally run away
To escape the past forever with the present here to stay
Our well-plotted plans have crashed into the ground
When we fell down together, our impact didn’t make a sound
The summer days have passed us by
Teardrops like rain falling from the sky
I cannot wait until I see the morning light
Because the greatest pain I feel is the pain I feel each night
I’ll never let you go
