Save Some Summer
Tears moist your pink pillow,
What's he done this time?
It's the beginning of July,
We've only got two months left.
Look outside your window,
The sun is up and ready to shine.
Shrug him off, he's just a lie,
I'll find my way to your heart even at it's lowest depth.
Calm down, breathe in, breathe out,
He's nothing to cry about.
Get up and come with me,
There's something I want you to see.
The weather outside is eighty degrees,
Perfect time to set yourself free.
I know you wanted so bad to believe,
Plans he made, it's just not meant to be.
And with every tear that falls, is you allowing another summer day to flee,
So don't let him ruin your three months of freedom, save some summer for me...
Twist and turn on your bed,
Why are you home before curfew?
Sneak out and break a rule,
We're going on a date to the fair.
Don't speak, not a word needs to be said,
Grab my hand and ascend on the Ferris wheel, check out the view;
I don't mean to bring him up, but in all honesty he's a fool,
If he loved you he'd still be around, I'm the one who truly seems to care.
He's not worth throwing away a whole summer over,
Trust me; you'll recover.
I'm here, ready to step and be your summer lover,
Patiently waiting to receive your number...
I know you wanted so bad to believe,
Plans he made, it's just not meant to be.
And with every tear that falls, is you allowing another summer day to flee,
So don't let him ruin your three months of freedom, save some summer for me...

Save some summer for me...
