That Girl
She sits at home,
All alone.
Can't find a reason to go out there.
She turns on the stereo,
Blasts it up as loud as it can go.
She doesn't care.
Well, she doesn't have many friends,
Most of them just pretend.
As she walks by they all just stare.
But what would they say,
If they knew what she went through everyday?
I'm pretty sure they would find her life unfair.
That girl, she has a secret,
The world, they'll never know it.
Because they don't let her cough a word,
Her stories all go unheard.
That girl, her life is tragic,
The world, they don't acknowledge it.
She's so unique and not a single person can see,
Everything she'll amount to be.
So when she makes a name for herself,
She'll be the one to forget everybody else.
She likes to remain asleep,
Nobody disturbs her in her keep.
Not anymore.
Both parents knock but she doesn't answer,
They can't understand what's happening to her.
She locks her door.
The girls at school crowd her space,
Every boy says she has an ugly face.
The insults are worse than before.
She attempts so hard to cry,
No tears fall because her eyes are dry.
She can't stand it anymore.
That girl, she has a secret,
The world, they'll never know it.
Because they don't let her cough a word,
Her stories all go unheard.
