I guess it’s not what you take when you leave this world behind you,
A knock at the door, two uniformed men,
As they hand me your tags, I scream,
“NO! It can’t be true. No, God, please no.”
Sobbing, I collapse,
The children come running,
The children, so young,
How do I tell them Daddy’s not coming home?
It’s what you leave behind you when you go
