When It Was Me
I bite my tongue,
Until my shirt soaks red.
Thinking about what was done,
It won't exit my head.
You traded me,
And now I'm lost.
Made it look so easy,
To be the one you'd toss.
Now where are you at?
Broke my heart and never put it back...
I remember a time,
When it was me and you.
Breaking rules and crossing the line,
Just us two.
But that new boy came along,
Slowly, I got pushed away.
Eventually, somewhere we went wrong,
'Cause I was deserted and you went your own way.
I can't forget us,
It's not like we were a dream.
And so all alone, my presence withers to dust,
I miss when it was me...
You're doing just fine,
With that boy you call your own.
I thought I would move on with time,
But I cannot stand being alone.
We haven't talked in a couple weeks,
It's as if I don't exist.
All I want is for us to speak,
And for me to be the one you miss.
Now where are you at?
Broke my heart and never put it back...
I remember a time,
When it was me and you.
Breaking rules and crossing the line,
Just us two.
But that new boy came along,
Slowly, I got pushed away.
Eventually, somewhere we went wrong,
'Cause I was deserted and you went your own way.
I can't forget us,
It's not like we were a dream.
And so all alone, my presence withers to dust,
I miss when it was me...
I bet he takes you to a movie,
And you cuddle up on a Friday night.
I know it's too late for you too see,
But I'm willing to put up a fight.
To be the one you kiss,
And to feel your touch.
You're the one I miss,
When you left it was too much...
I remember a time,
When it was me and you.
Breaking rules and crossing the line,
Just us two.
But that new boy came along,
Slowly, I got pushed away.
Eventually, somewhere we went wrong,
'Cause I was deserted and you went your own way.
I can't forget us,
It's not like we were a dream.
And so all alone, my presence withers to dust,
I miss when it was me...
