"Your life is an occasion, rise to it." -Mr. Magorium

Paper cranes fly through the sky
Carrying love between you and I
Messages written on their wings
Come from you and fly to me

Paper cranes fly so high
Going all the day
Look. There. Do you see?
The paper geisha's here to play.

Oh, do you see?
My samurai has come to me.
Oh, do you know?
Of paper cranes as pure as snow.

You have heard of Romeo
And of Tristan and fair Isolde,
The love I found that one day
Is stronger than the stories told.

Paper hearts beat like mine
Sharing love as old as time
He is mine, and this I know
It's what the paper blossoms show.

Oh, do you see?
My samurai has come to me.
Oh, do you know?
Of paper cranes as pure as snow.

Then one day, he left me
Off to war he was forced to flee
Now my cranes do not fly
Their paper wings he cannot find.

Years and years did go by
Our tree did age and so did I
But look.
There.
What do you see?
A paper crane returns to me.

Oh, do you see?
My samurai has come to me.
Oh, do you know?
Of paper cranes as white as snow

Paper cranes fly through the sky,
Carrying love between you and I....

The author's comments:
The crane is a symbol of honor and loyalty in Japan. I thought it was fitting to be in this piece, and the whole thing grew up around them. (Personally I love folding paper cranes, you should try it some time)
