Another Song I Wrote For You
Would it be too much to ask,
For a night all alone?
No friends, no parents,
Just you and I at home.
I'll pick up a pizza,
And rent your favorite movie.
The only thing you have to contribute,
Is spending time with me.
I was thinking this could go somewhere,
Like it has in the past.
I might be wrong,
But hey: I gotta ask.
Have you found another boy?
One who fills your every need?
No, I'm still stuck on the same girl,
The beautiful soul who left my heart to bleed.
And yeah, I sit by my phone,
Praying you'll get the nerve to call.
But time goes by as does the silence,
Once again, I let myself fall.
Stupid me was thinking,
I could fix us and start anew.
Yet all I got is this paper and pen,
As I jot down another song I'm writing for you.
I haven't gone out much,
Not since the day you walked out.
I type away on my keyboard,
Because I can't find the words to shout.
Been holding myself back,
From this plan I have in thought.
Would've gone through with it,
If my nerves weren't so caught.
I was thinking about showing up,
Since I remember your address.
If I rode up on a white horse with a dozen roses,
Would you accept my apology or has someone claimed you as their princess?
Have you found another boy?
One who fills your every need?
No, I'm still stuck on the same girl,
The beautiful soul who left my heart to bleed.
And yeah, I sit by my phone,
Praying you'll get the nerve to call.
But time goes by as does the silence,
Once again, I let myself fall.
Stupid me was thinking,
I could fix us and start anew.
Yet all I got is this paper and pen,
As I jot down another song I'm writing for you.
Every word that comes to mind,
Leads me straight back to you.
I cross my T's and dot my I's,
Using your favorite shade of blue.
This pen is drying up,
And I'm running out of ink.
I fill the page with my last set of words,
As I feel my heart begin to sink.
What you're about to read,
Will make you white as a ghost.
I lied when I said you were the wrong one,
'Cause girl, you're the one I love the most...
Yet all I got is this paper and pen,
As I finish another song I wrote for you...
