My Only Weapon
Looking around pointlessly
In my well darkened room
The only light being
The starless sky holding the pale silver moon
My pounds and skips beats
Until the crimson sun shines through
I stay still and silent, barely breathing,
When all I'm thinking about is you
The day was long and grim
Even though no trace of darkness remained
But even when I knew I wasn't hiding in the shadows,
I was afraid.
I don't dare tell you how I feel.
With my pen being my only way,
My only weapon with no price or regret to pay.
And even then
You will never know.
How much you mean
To this broken, battered soul
Take a hammer to this heart,
That was broken already,
Smash it into a million pieces
If that's really your desire for me.
Just remember this tiny cracked little
Girl that you use to know and love and adore
And that even when you hurt me
It'll just make me love you even more
