Leaving
I tried to get your attention last night,
But you rolled over and sleeping didn't feel right.
The alarm clock went off but you still didn't move,
I had so much to say but I'll never tell you.
So I put my stuff together and I got dressed,
A bunch of clothes and words I'll never confess.
I had the plan to show you the world through my eyes,
But I can't keep up this unstable disguise.
How can I tell you that I'm leaving?
I can't take it anymore.
I'm done with make-believing,
So I walked right out the door.
You want me, you need me,
Keep your words, I'm leaving.
Oh, can't you see what you've done?
Pushing me away.
When you see the morning sun,
You'll wake without me in your day.
Hope you know I'm leaving...
Don't bother telling me not to go,
You're making the pain come really slow.
I've seen the way you act at times,
Should've caught on sooner now I'm seeing the signs.
I wanted appreciation but I got the shoulder,
Now you're confused as to why we're over.
All my words I'll keep them concealed,
You won this game on an empty field.
How can I tell you that I'm leaving?
I can't take it anymore.
I'm done with make-believing,
So I walked right out the door.
You want me, you need me,
Keep your words, I'm leaving.
Oh, can't you see what you've done?
Pushing me away.
When you see the morning sun,
You'll wake without me in your day.
Hope you know I'm leaving...
Do you want me to stay?
Or will you replace me in a day?
I was there with you through it all,
Answered every text and every phone call.
But you took me for granted, I'm not what you wanted, I believe,
That this it, it's time for me to leave...
How can I tell you that I'm leaving?
I can't take it anymore.
I'm done with make-believing,
So I walked right out the door.
You want me, you need me,
Keep your words, I'm leaving.
Oh, can't you see what you've done?
Pushing me away.
When you see the morning sun,
You'll wake without me in your day.
Hope you know I'm leaving...
