Maybe Next Time
All the times I talked about saying goodbye,
I never meant a single one, it was all a lie.
I'm thinking of you and my eyes are a little wet,
But I'm not on your mind, you're just trying to forget.
I see that your heart has been a bit sore,
I'll take the blame for every fight like before.
But I don't wanna be forgotten, no, it can't end like that,
Throw me one more chance, I'll get your lovely smile back.
Maybe next time,
I can spit the right line.
Instead I watch your love decline,
Realizing we're far from fine.
Breaking your heart is a national crime,
And I got these cold chills running down my spine.
Knowing you and I fell from cloud nine,
And I question, will she ever again be mine?
But I never asked, so maybe next time...
It may be illegal, but tonight I deserve a drink,
Just a couple hours to relax and not think.
About us, about you,
And everything that we've been through.
I rush to my phone when I see the light,
Assuming you're returning my missed calls from last night.
But you're not, I don't think you ever will,
So I kickback and let the alcohol make my mind still.
One day I'm sure we'll come to an understanding,
And get back to the moments that we were planning;
Out the details of our life spent together,
'Cause it was supposed to be you and I forever.
But I said the wrong words, spit a bad phrase,
Watched you walk away as you forget my face.
And it's clear you're trying to erase my name,
But if it's all the same, I'd like you to know I'll take all the blame...
