what if we’re like butterflies

I still have your lotion, everytime I smell it brings back emotions

At first it was a good and warm feeling, then it turned into dark and cold

I never pictured us breaking up, I knew everything would remind me of you

You put me through pain I couldn't ignore, i'm sorry I know I pinky swore

It was the third and final time, it was time to say goodbye

Now i'm left with this bottle of lotion, in your scent

No matter how much I try to get rid of it, it's almost like all I have left of someone I once loved

It's been two years of trying and it doesn't seem like your scent is dying, but my tears are drying

Maybe right person, wrong timing

Or its just the universe telling me you'll always be around, waiting to watch me drown

I got to see the you in me leave, and the lotion turned into just lotion

Nothing more, nothing less

I had somone I used to love in the back of my head when I wrote this, so I used them to base it off of.
