No More Sonnets

Normally, we do fun stuff in this class,

But sonnet writing is the opposite of that

It is something that I dread, like mowing grass

I would rather be outside on a yoga mat

Haikus are fine, but sonnets make me rage

My brain melts thinking of the perfect rhyme

If it were up to me, they would be caged

Writing them make me as sour as a lime

Despite my hate for sonnets in particular

I sit here writing one while feeling  defeated

I think I took the wrong  extracurricular

I wish I could just leave this uncompleted.

Although I sit here wanting to be done,

I pity the people who have yet begun.

The author's comments:

I dont really mind poetry, but I am not a fan of sonnets. When the time came around in class to write one I dreaded it and couldnt think of a topic to write it about. After sitting there staying at my blank paper for about 20 minutes, I thought to write one about how much I dislike them.
