holllow
like an old rotten tree i am hollow,
from my tip top, to the roots in the ground,
there in the dark, foggy swamp i wallow,
alone and cold is where i will be found.
there on my brancheslies a dark bird,
through its rough fethers a scare on its chest,
ththroughout the forest it's caws can be heared,
you can tell throughout it's cries it's not like the rest.
dear friend, the tree replied, i am nothing,
the bird said, "rather be than nothing"
