My love for you burns like the shining sun
I want you more than anyone could want
My dear your beauty glimmers like my gun
You show no mercy on me while you haunt
My mind is cluttered with you everyday
And I can’t pull myself to look away
I watch you walk past me from day to day
So now I know what I must do today
But my past love keeps you away from me
Because she holds my heart still to this day
Her love holds me down like roots hold a tree
I can’t break free enough to be okay
So now I must open my mind and think
Of what to do in this confusing fink
