Slinking Shadow
That shadow will haunt you everyday.
It sneaks and slithers in every place,
And will never forget to make you pay.
You look and search but never spot a trace.
It may be hidden, but is always felt.
Inching it’s way up your fiery heart,
And you have to play the cards you are dealt.
Your actions and words have a bite that’s tart.
But you don’t realize the souls that were marred.
How many people can spot your small flaws?
Most don’t realize why things have been so hard,
And it is tough to wash your dirty paws.
But life goes on and sins are forgiven,
And never forget why you were driven.
