Summer Time
Summer Time
Walking barefoot along the beach,
Collecting smooth sea glass, glittering like emeralds in the afternoon sun,
Watching seagulls circle round and round and screech.
My sun kissed face, beaming from all the fun
My blonde bleached hair ruffled by the salty breeze,
Building grand sandcastles fit for kings,
Lying on the beach, my life’s at ease
Sitting by the campfire enjoying the mouth watering smell of chicken wings.
The scent of coconut sun cream fills the air,
Mesmerized by the tongues flickering like that of a serpent,
The sight is so irresistible; I can not help but stare,
Listening to cicadas in our brand new canvas tent
Walking dazed along the faded boardwalks
Strawberry ice cream dripping in the fieriness of the afternoon sun,
Catch up with family, lots of long talks,
How glad I am, summer has finally begun.
