My Dream
The sweet and gentle rocking of a wave,
My eyes are captured by the clear blue sea,
Treasured moments my heart will always save,
Ocean scents fill my soul with endless glee.
I feel this magic when I choose to sail,
A choice I desire to make each day,
My routine life seems like a stifling jail,
Compared to the bliss and peace of a bay.
Perhaps I should escape to the ocean,
A life wrapped in a safe and warm cocoon,
My world with a single, pure devotion,
Sleeping like a baby under the moon.
But, I must awake from this wishful dream,
Too many duties on land, it would seem.
Inspired by William Shakespeare’s Sonnets and Use of Iambic Pentameter
