Passing Time
Oh how happy we are when we are young,
No contemplation; dancing together,
They do say, these are the best days to come,
But I pray not, wouldn’t they grow better?
On to a world of sophistication,
Oh what we will wear, bland dresses and ties
When will we receive our invitation,
To this eternal party of stress and lies,
Forever to be children of the past,
Old enough to wonder on our travels,
Floating lonesome on our own cardboard raft,
Left alone with only our small paddles,
We say goodbye to fair weather on shore,
and hello to storms that we find unsure
