Hurting Inside
Fake smile and laugh shown every day;
No one cares just to give an ear
To how I feel or even word I say.
I guess they pretend not to even hear.
The pain way deep down cannot be revealed.
I come off as mad, but it is untrue
Because this pain isn’t easily healed.
You never thought it was because of you.
Of course not, but you are the reason why
I think to myself as I lie in bed;
Each night, I let the tears fall from my eyes.
But what is felt, I keep inside my head.
Lives get hard, but think good about your life,
And be done with what cuts you like a knife.
