My Dear Sparrow
Shall I compare thee to a caged sparrow?
Thou art just as free and eager to fly.
Thy wings need to spread from a cage narrow,
this place of confinement makes your heart cry.
You often miss your home so far away,
and think of the times with all of your friends.
You can't even go back for a nights stay.
It was all left hanging without good ends.
A sparrow is what you are compared too.
But one that is locked up; spirit broken.
Not a dove, though you make my heart go coo.
You're trapped there; as if you were a token.
Oh dear sparrow, please just come back to me,
and a whole new world is what you shall see.
