First Kiss
Together we stood, wide eyed and
blushing,
I could feel your warm breath
against my neck.
It was cool outside, the wind was
blowing,
The last night of summer, out on my
deck.
Through thin wispy white clouds the
moonlight shone,
All of the crickets chirped,
playing their song.
The two of us, you and I, all
alone.
How did we hide these feelings for
so long?
So cautiously you began to lean in,
I had closed my eyes as I did the
same.
This kiss left goosebumps all over
my skin,
Butterflies in my stomach, you to
blame.
Our eyes both opened, you looked
right at me,
All the stars have never shined so
brightly.
