Let Me Forget
I stare with broken eyes.
My tears too far gone.
Crying is pointless.
All it does is streak my make-up.
I know I shouldn't care.
But I can’t help the way I feel.
When I see smiling faces.
Faces left alone by pain.
They don't know what it means to cry your eyes out.
They don't know what it means to have a broken heart.
They just smile.
They have only tomorrow to live for.
But I have yesterday I'm trying to forget.
I scream, and shout, and beg to lose my mind.
Then my memories will seem like hallucinations of a delirious lunatic.
One can only hope.
Why won't you let me forget?
What you did?
What you said?
Why won't you just go?
Please...
Let me forget...
