Yellow Ball
The yellow ball flew very, very high,
The little boy thought it would touch the sky.
He watched it go up, up, up and away.
He had to force his tiny feet to stay.
Ten minutes later it fell straight back down
And made a splat when it hit the hard ground.
A waterfall of tears spewed from his eyes
Which was followed by a very big sigh.
He picked up the thing that was now so flat,
He’d use it as a bed for his old cat.
But in the meantime, his tiny brain thought,
It could be a plate for his tater tot.
Thinking how dumb that really, really was,
He would throw it away, well just because.
