Favorite Quote:
History will be kind to me...for I intend to write it.

I am a nestling, newly hatched
Perched so high in a tall, oak tree
Held fast in my nest, its power unmatched
Wishing, hoping, longing to be free

How can I fly with wings so small
I wish I were sure and less insecure
Compelled to fly, but afraid to fall
Bold, but barely for I fear the obscure

Burning desire kindles in my core
As I stand peering down from nest to ground
With a leap of faith, I shed all I abhor
A swift descent without a sound

With wings beating against the wind
Slowly I begin to ascend
