Terror in Dreamland
Each step I take is limited by you.
Each breath of air not quite as whole or deep.
I’m boxed in by your minute cube of blue.
These nightmares ever-present in my sleep.
Tracked by you, my feet fixed to the floor.
To run for running’s sake would only mar.
Your shadows thick and steady, in they lure.
You’re leading, winning now, but not by far.
But with my eyes squeezed tight you’ll always win.
In dreams you’ll conquer, countless lives you’ll take.
I slowly open, let the light seep in.
It ebbs and flows until I snap awake.
If you control and form my sleepy haze,
How will I keep you from my precious days?
