I Saved A Seagull
We were on the boat one day
Me, my mom, and my dad heading out to the bay
I saw a women with something caught in her net
I thought she needs help I bet
There was a seagull trapped inside
So I ran to her and knelt beside
A million thoughts went through my brain
But the women wasn’t being sane
I reached into the stringy mess
It’s a good thing I wasn’t wearing a dress
I unhooked its head and wings
I clipped its feet from the strings
He flew away free
Towards the sea
But I swear I saw it turn around and look at me
To say “thank you” for only me to see
I know I saved a seagull that day
And every day for it I pray
That it flies and plays in the open air
And through that open air without a care
