The End (The Beginning)
The day shines bright despite the clouds.
A highly contented group arrives.
They roam the streets, their heads held high;
Now, black and white, then, bright with hues.
Two people stand out from the crowd.
The only ones, their eyes are locked.
A spontaneous kiss, seconds
Long, an embrace that lives on.
People look on at the strangers,
A smile plastered on their gleeful
Faces. Only a passerby,
But more: a history witness.
Two lovers met that happy day;
The end of a war, worlds away.
