Stairs in a Scene
Upon these stairs a person walked
Up and down like day and night fall
I see nothing but stones and rails
Longing for sight of things I know.
I watched the street for anything
To end this day of nothingness
Then came a man by bike so fast
A minute it did last, then gone.
Night fall, sun rise, and still I watch
I watch for any sign of him
He appears to speed, cycle and wander
By and by with nowhere to go.
You think it would be a routine
For all the times at this strange scene.
