My life in just one word
I woke up this morning pretty early
My mom had to fetch me out of bed
My bag was filled with nothing girly
Dressed in sweats, and under, my suit dark red
My heart was pounding like never before
I put my goggles on for the big race
In my mind this pool was a full-on war
With everyone it’s hard to win first place
In an instant, the loud buzzer went off
Head first then feet, only two laps to go
I was off the block like it was blast-off
I won the race by a length of a toe
My life revolves around one word, swimming
Without it, I can’t imagine living
