His Flag
Oh how it means so much to so many.
It undulates in the distance like flowing waves.
Falling, falling, straight to the dirt it paves
An emblem as strong as mahogany.
United Atlanta to Albany
He reaches. For he would lie in his grave
Before his colors shamefully fall like caves.
Seconds from the ground: seconds from humility.
Just in time, but not a second too late.
He grabs it swiftly, ignoring all else.
All strength, all honor, with pride it remains.
Much relief that he did not hesitate.
Lesson learned, raised again, tightly bound; quelled
Beautifully uniting one country the same.
