Awake
Awake
I lay there awake in my stone cold bed.
Midnight approaches at the speed of light.
Unable to sleep with these thoughts in my head,
The rise of the sun appears in my sight.
The only two things I do while I sleep,
Are dream lucid dreams or lie there awake.
Sometimes when I dream I lay there and weep,
Sometimes it feels like I’m hung on a stake.
I wake in the morning, I can’t help but grin.
My dreams have failed to come true this time.
Maybe the happiest I’ve ever been.
It’s time to start living my life that’s prime.
And only with dreams do I realize.
The life that I live is not full of lies.
