Keystone Project
SONNET
My feet sink softly in the sun warmed sand
The guard and protector of the sea
I reach down to make peace, shake its hand
It slips away, wants me to let it be
I make my way to the end of the shore
And watch the waves come gently to the end
They retreat-then return for an encore
They tattered, like hearts the will never mend
I come here often when I am feeling down
And see myself in the waves that I view
Only at times when no one is around
I search the waves and myself for some clue
The Great calmness soothes away my pain
It dissipates trouble, helps keep me sane
