just to fit in
Society’s views will make us fit in,
Dousing ourselves in makeup and hairspray.
Concentrating only on how much we weigh
And to gain approval you must be thin.
“I’ll have a couple drinks just to look hot”
If I deny I get a warning sign
Because popular people don’t decline.
Always pressured- “Just take one more shot.”
Forget what D.A.R.E taught us, that’s really dumb.
The way to the ‘in’ crew is heed their rules.
The overall pressure made them succumb
And suddenly the real ‘you’ is a haze.
(BE YOU ty) is like a bouquet of flowers
and you don’t have to change, just to get praise.
