"Up, Up and Away"
Do you remember that day we flew
Over the patchwork fields and sloping mountains
Among the flights of bejeweled parrots
Around the highest snow-capped peak?
With our flag flapping in the freshened breeze.
And do you remember the time we sailed
Beyond the horizon and into the sun
Our sails full of the North wind
Which drove us ever forward?
And our flag fluttering in the freshened breeze.
Do you remember the rainforest
With its huge, towering trees and winding creepers
The dappled sun unablr to reach the floor
A soft green glow all around us?
And our flag, still, there is no breeze.
This happened long ago, now age has slowed our limbs
And we forget- yes, we forgot
But now we are remembering.
