Mad Girl
She came in a burst of color and light
Anything she touched turned to gold.
We never thought that one day she'd take flight,
her wings would quiver, then unfold
and she'd take off, flying far away
to the places we'd only dreamed of.
She left our world as she'd found it- grey
and uniform. She was above
all this, she said.
But now we've heard
that she'd broken and her shattered head
is playing tricks on her, and that same vibrant bird
has descended into madness- the girl
we thought was destined for greatness, when her wings unfurled.
