Porcelain
Why am I standing here all by myself?
No doubt that I could leave if I wanted
Instead I’m fixed, figurine on a shelf
Perfectly awake; and a bit haunted
Cautious of the world, sporadically sad
I don’t think this blue could possibly last
My shelf stays stable, enduring through bad
This time of dwelling has come to be past
Near and dear and close to my heart, oh no
Some things just aren’t meant to be, I promise
With or without, I’m still going, oh woe
In myself I find my only solace
Over the shelf’s edge, forever banished
Solo china in a bull’s world, finished
