Athletics
The sound of metal, clanking in the air,
and many yelling, as they try to lift.
While people rack up with sweat in their hair,
athletes stand up, their muscles are a gift.
Out the window, you can easily see,
many bending down, trying to touch toes.
While some stretch, many on the field run free,
with a lot of sweat dripping off their nose.
And on the track, many jump some hurdles,
and many condition for the track meet.
Some of the big kids are slow like turtles,
while others seem to be able to beat.
Rounding it all up, athletics is tough.
You may need to get down and fairly rough.
