A friend like you was a friend long ago
For all the memories we shared I was grateful
But sometimes friends just get up and go
I didn't know they could be so hateful
Never did I want to forget you
But as years flew by
I spent my Friday nights with friends anew
Never looking back, not even to say bye
Even though in my heart I knew
I wanted to bust out and cry
I was hoping one day our friendship we could renew
I wasn't sure if you were willing to try
I went on with my life
Trying to forget about all this strife

The author's comments:
I've had many times where I feel hopeless in a friendship and I just don't know to do. I hope this helps other people see that many people have problems losing their friends and its not just them. Also help them realize how fast it can happened and how quickly you wish you could go back in time and change what happened.
