For What Does Life Go On Without The Truth?
For what does life go on without the truth?
I’ll tell you: led your ear untrained by song.
We sit in silence, sacrificing youth,
And all the while praying we are wrong.
Discovery without the fresh desire,
In fact, is not discovery at all.
‘Tis not but hunger used to feed the fire.
‘Tis not but pride that expedites your fall.
And if you find that you are not alone,
When your reflection starts to dim at last,
Consider this: all else is but a clone,
In time we all will struggle with our past.
So why does life move on with but a lie?
In hopes that truth may soon become out guide.
